He developed an early interest in cricket and rose through domestic cricket structures, eventually representing the Delhi cricket team in national competitions. His consistent performances in domestic tournaments helped him secure a place in India’s national squad during the early 2000s.

Gambhir made his international debut for the India national cricket team in 2003 in a One Day International match. Over the next decade, he established himself as one of India’s leading opening batsmen across formats. He played crucial innings in major tournaments, including the 2007 ICC World Twenty20 and the 2011 Cricket World Cup, contributing significantly to India’s title victories.
