Dr Rajesh Mishra

Dr Rajesh Mishra's tryst with politics began amidst the fervour of student activism. Back in 1979, during his medical studies, he emerged as a prominent figure, ascending to the position of President of the Student Union at Indore Medical College.

His political voyage officially set sail with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), where he found a platform to advocate for the marginalised and underprivileged sections of society. In 2008, Dr Mishra took a bold step forward by contesting elections as a BSP candidate for the Sidhi Assembly seat.

Transitioning to a new political horizon, Dr Mishra made a significant shift by joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This move reflected his adaptability and willingness to align with different ideologies in pursuit of his vision for a better society. With BJP, his responsibilities multiplied manifold, as he assumed various roles within the party hierarchy.

From serving as the District President to spearheading the Medical Cell, Dr. Mishra showcased his organisational prowess and commitment to the party's objectives. His influence extended beyond state boundaries, as he took charge of crucial districts in Assam, Uttar Pradesh, and Tripura during assembly elections, contributing significantly to the party's electoral victories.

However, Dr. Mishra's political journey has not been devoid of challenges. Despite his aspirations for direct electoral representation, he faced disappointment when the party opted to field Reeti Pathak in the assembly elections. In a bold display of dissent, he tendered his resignation from all party positions, a move that underscored his unwavering principles and determination.

Yet, adversity often paves the way for opportunity. Dr Mishra's resolute stance and unwavering dedication caught the attention of party leadership, ultimately earning him the coveted ticket for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Dr Mishra's roots lie in the village of Akauri, nestled under the Churhat district, he belongs to the God caste. Educated in the prestigious halls of Indore, Dr Mishra embarked on a career in medicine, serving as a government doctor in district hospitals before venturing into entrepreneurship with his own nursing home.
