Aravind Limbavali was born on 1 February 1967 in Bagalkot, Mysore State (now Karnataka). He completed his education in engineering with a B.E. in Civil Engineering from B.M.S. College of Engineering, Bangalore University. Early in his political life, Limbavali was associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and later the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), where he was active in student politics and organisational work.
Limbavali entered formal electoral politics when he was first elected to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly from the newly created Mahadevapura constituency in 2008. He retained the seat in subsequent elections in 2013 and 2018, representing the BJP and focusing on infrastructure and civic development in the rapidly urbanising Bengaluru suburbs.
During his legislative career, Limbavali served in various ministerial capacities in the Government of Karnataka. These include Minister of Higher Education (2008–2010), Minister of Health & Family Welfare (2012–2013), and, in 2021, Minister of Forest and Minister of Kannada & Culture in the state cabinet, reflecting his long tenure and varied administrative roles.
After the 2023 Karnataka Assembly election, the BJP fielded his spouse, Manjula Limbavali, as the party’s candidate for Mahadevapura, and she was elected as MLA from the same seat. Limbavali continues to be active in Karnataka's political and public affairs as a senior leader within the BJP.
As of 2026, Aravind Limbavali remains an influential figure in Karnataka’s political landscape.
