The former chief minister of Maharashtra Ashok Shankarrao Chavan was born on 28 October 1958. He had served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra from 8 December 2008 to 9 November 2010.
The former chief minister of Maharashtra Ashok Shankarrao Chavan was born on 28 October 1958. He had served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra from 8 December 2008 to 9 November 2010. Chavan is son of former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shankarrao Chavan and Kusum Chavan. He entered into politics as the General Secretary of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee. He did his graduation in Science and has obtained his Master's in Business Management. Chavan's father, Shankarrao Chavan had also been two Chief Minister of Maharashtra. The father–son duo were the first in the state's history to become chief ministers. On 14 May 1982, Chavan got married to Ameeta. Ameeta is current member of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from Bhokar constituency which was represent by both Shankarrao Chavan and Chavan himself. Chavan and Ameeta have twins daughters names Srijaya and Sujaya. He entered into politics by becoming the General Secretary of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee. Currently, he is the President of Sai Sevabhavi Trust Nanded, a charitable voluntary organisation. During his political career, he had served as Minister for Cultural Affairs, Industries, Mines and Protocol in the Vilasrao Deshmukh government.
