Dr. John Brittas Biography

Dr. John Brittas was born to A. P. Paily and Annamma in Pulikurumba on 15th May 1996. After completing his education, he joined as a sub-editor at “Desabhimani,” a newspaper in the vernacular language and later became its Delhi bureau chief.

When Kairali TV was launched in 2000, he joined it as an Associate Director in charge of the Delhi Bureau for Kairali TV. After working for three years in Delhi he was made the Managing Director of the channel and was transferred to Kerala. Presently he is posted in Trivandrum where he lives with his family. He married Sheba Brittas in 1995 and was blessed with two children with her.

He was elected to the Rajya Sabha in 2021 from Kerala as a Communist Party of India (Marxist) member.

He is a part of different committees. The first is on Communications and Information Technology, the second on Information and Communication Technology Management specifically in the Rajya Sabha, the third is a Telephone Advisory Committee for Trivandrum in Kerala, and the last one is simply the Committee on Commerce.

Education Qualification of Dr. John Brittas

After completing primary education in a nearby school, Dr John Brittas was put in Don Bosco School, Thrissur- a residential school, for high school studies. From there he went to S S College, Thalipparambu in Kannur for his pre-degree. He had his Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Political Science from Kerala Varma College, Thrissur. Later he joined the Jawaharlal Nehru University for an M.Phil and PhD.
