Divya Spandana (Ramya)

Divya Spandana, popularly known as Ramya, was born on 29 November 1982 in Bangalore. She grew up in Ooty and Chennai, completing her schooling there before pursuing higher studies. She later attended St. Joseph's College of Commerce in Bangalore, where she studied B.Com for a year.

Ramya stepped into the film industry in 2003, making her debut opposite Kannada actor Puneet Rajkumar in the film Abhi. She went on to act in several Tamil and Telugu films as well, quickly establishing herself as one of the leading actresses in Kannada cinema by working with some of its biggest stars.

In 2012, she entered politics by joining the Indian National Congress youth wing. The following year, she contested the Mandya by-election and won, becoming a Member of Parliament on her very first attempt. However, in the 2014 general election, she narrowly lost her seat. In 2017, she took charge of Congress�s social media and digital team, contributing to its online presence.
