Bellur Chandrashekharaiah Nagesh or B. C. Nagesh was associated with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad during his student life. Initially, he was also involved with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Later, he switched to the Bharatiya Janata Party in 1984. Nagesh won the state assembly elections from Tiptur constituency in the years 2008 and 2018, respectively. But he got defeated by INC candidate K Shadakshari during the 2023 assembly election.
