Indian doctor cum politician Atul Debbarma is also a passionate writer. He also served as MLA as a candidate of BJP from 2018 to 2023.
Before entering to politics, Debbarma served as a Medical Officer in a Mobile Health Team in Tripura ADC government from 1991-1992. Since then, he used to practice medical in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi until 2017. After that, he joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh party. Thereafter, he won the assembly election 2018 represented Krishnapur constituency on a BJP ticket.
Dr. Atul was born on Jan 8, 1965, to Late Ishwar Chandra Debbarma and Bidya Laxmi Debbarma. His wife Madhabi Debbarma is also a doctor by profession.
