Anurag Sharma

Anurag Sharma, born to Vishwanath and Geeta Sharma in Jhansi on November 16, 1964, is a dedicated leader and community figure.

An active member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, he was elected to represent the Jhansi constituency in the 17th Lok Sabha and has been renominated for the 2024 general election. In addition to his political commitments, he holds prominent positions as Chairperson of esteemed organisations such as the Bundelkhand Seva Mandal and the Pandit Vishwanath Hindu Charitable Trust, demonstrating his dedication to community service.

His passion for education is evident through his leadership at Rani Laxmi Bai Public Schools across Jhansi, Lalitpur, and Datia, ensuring quality education reaches the region's youth. He is also a strong advocate for holistic well-being, promoting health, fitness, and sports, particularly hockey. Under his guidance, prestigious hockey tournaments like the Major Dhyanchand Hockey Tournament have thrived for seven consecutive years. Additionally, he has spearheaded the establishment of a modern golf course complex, equipped with top-notch facilities.

Beyond his professional commitments, he actively promotes education through the establishment of schools and the distribution of scholarships. He also champions healthcare initiatives through Baidyanath and supports sports activities through Shri Laxmi Vijayrourshila.

Outside of his busy schedule, he enjoys finding solace in reading, and exploring new destinations through travel, and remains dedicated to advancing community development initiatives.

He entered matrimonial life with Poonam Sharma in 1990, and together they have been blessed with two daughters.
