Anantkumar Hegde Biography

Anant Kumar Hegde is the incumbent Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and the Member of Parliament for Uttara Kannada constituency. He has won this constituency five terms since he first contested in 1996 Lok Sabha elections. He only lost once to Alva Margaret of INC in 1999 elections. Since then he has held a steady grip on Uttar Kannada constituency. He is notorious for propagating anti-Islamic sentiments amongst his constituents. Hegde is a Hindu nationalist and member of the right-wing Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. He graduated from MM Arts & Science College in Sirsi. During college days he was a member of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and later an ABVP activist.
