Punjab Peoples Party (PPP) Flag

Punjab Peoples Party election symbol was the Kite for 2012 Punjab Assembly election. The Election Commission of India allotted the symbol to PPP. PPP contested within Sanjha Morcha with CPI, CPI(M), and SAD(Longowal). The symbol shaped the partys political identity on ballots and campaign materials.

Contemporary reports described the Punjab Peoples Party flag as yellow, used widely at rallies. The party publicised a Punjab Peoples Party logo in yellow-themed visuals. No permanent symbol was reserved by the Election Commission of India. PPP functioned as a registered, unrecognised party in 2012. This colour appeared widely on volunteer gear statewide.

PPP: Symbol Variations and Flag Status

As per ECI rules for unrecognised parties, PPP sought a symbol at each election. In 2015 local polls, Kite was unavailable among free symbols. Candidates could receive different symbols in areas. Alliance partners used their own symbols under the Sanjha Morcha seatsharing framework. Allocation varied by constituency.

On 14 January 2016, PPP merged with the Indian National Congress. Since the merger, there is no recognised Punjab Peoples Party election symbol or flag. This holds in Election Commission of India records. References to PPP appear historically, describing its earlier political identity during 2012 campaigns and alliance activities.
