She completed her education with a degree in Home Science and has been active in public and social work in her home district. Patel entered formal electoral politics when she was selected as the BJP candidate for a by-election in the Choryasi Assembly constituency in January 2016, following the passing of her father, late BJP legislator Rajendra Patel.
