V.K. Pandian

V.K.​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ Pandian, a native of Tamil Nadu, was an Indian Administrative Service officer of the Odisha cadre. His attributes, like efficiency, administrative discipline, and the ability to drive large-scale public projects, were eminent. He served as a Collector in various districts and received People s-Centric Governance and field-level intervention as his recognition. His career in the districts gave him a solid reputation and brought him nearer to the state leadership. Afterward, he became the private secretary to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. In this position, he was considered one of the most powerful state administrators. Pandian was very instrumental in the inception of the government’s flagship projects, developmental programmes, and governance reforms. It was his direct involvement with the people's grievances and large infrastructure projects that helped his reputation as a bold and result-oriented administrator grow. The following year, he left IAS on a voluntary retirement and joined Biju Janata Dal as a formal member. As a party worker, he has been very active in organizing the party and efficiently carrying out the statewide outreach programs and strategy planning. Although he does not take part in elections, Pandian is still a key personality in the political scenario of Odisha who is always available to the party for policy vision, developmental planning, and public ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌communications.
