Achyutananda Samanta Biography

Achyutananda Samanta was born to Anandi Charan Samanta and Nilima Rani Samanta in a remote village, Kalarabank on 20th January 1964.
When he was only four years old, his dad passed away. He grew up amidst severe poverty with seven siblings and a widowed mother. He had to work hard to get enough food and go to school for fifteen years. When he was 22, he became a teacher. Then, at the age of 25 years, he began a journey that changed not only his life but lots of others too, he started KIIT (Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology) and KISS (Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences). He began these in two houses he rented.
Because of his excellent work in helping education and tribal welfare in Odisha, he was asked to run for Rajya Sabha in 2018. He won as a member of the Biju Janata Dal party. Then in 2019, he ran for the Kandhamal Constituency in Odisha. Now he is in Lok Sabha and wants to make Kandhamal a great place to live.
He is a multifaceted individual who has made significant contributions to education, tribal upliftment, art, culture, literature, film, media, spirituality, rural development, and humanitarian causes. His impact extends to sports, where he has nurtured nine Olympians, developed sports infrastructure, and promoted physical fitness, national unity, and social integration.
Despite his achievements and access to luxuries, he maintains a humble and compassionate demeanour, leading a simple life as a bachelor. His story embodies the transformative power of hard work, perseverance, and social responsibility, inspiring hope and serving as a shining example for others.
