College from 1971-1972, Chhatra Janata, State Unit Janata Party from 1977-1978, Yub Junata, State Unit Janata Party from 1978-1984, Janata Dal, Odisha 1994-1996, Biju Janata Dal, Odisha from 1998-2000 and 2004 onwards. As a student leader, he participated in Jayaprakash Movement and went underground during emergency. He invited J P to Odisha as Gen. Secy., J.P. Reception Committee in 1974.
