Pinaki Mishra

Pinaki‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Misra is an Indian politician and a senior advocate who has, through law and public service, made a dual career. He was born in Odisha on 23 October 1959. He has been a Member of Parliament for the Puri Lok Sabha constituency for several terms with the Biju Janata Dal (BJD). After a stint of one term, he started the political journey with the Indian National Congress.

As a notable lawyer of the Supreme Court, he is recognized for his debates in the parliament and his knowledge of the ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌law.

Pinaki‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Misra (born 23 October 1959) is an Indian politician and a senior advocate who is well-known for his dual career in law and public service. Cuttack, Odisha, is the place he is from, where he came from a politically engaged family. His father, Lokanath Misra, was a member of the Rajya Sabha and also the Governor of Assam.

Misra earned his B.A. (Hons) in History from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, and an LL.B. from the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi. He started his career as a lawyer and later he has been working as a Senior Advocate in the Supreme Court of India, and his areas of expertise are constitutional, environmental, mining, and corporate law.

He left the Indian National Congress in where he had his political journey, to join the Biju Janata Dal. He was elected from Puri in 2009, 2014, and 2019. After that, he made a name for himself with his parliamentary powerpoints and committee activities. Initially, he had won the Puri Lok Sabha seat in 1996 on the Indian National Congress ticket.

The House was his arena where he showed his extensive knowledge of law and impressive oratory skills. He has been very active in the debates and discussions regarding the constitution, the economy, and the social issues. He has two children with his ex-wife, Sangita Misra, and keeps his personal life out of the ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌limelight.
