Pradeep Maharathy Biography

Pradeep Maharathy born in 1955 in Pipili Of Puri is an Eminent politician of Utkala. His leadership qualities were came in display in his college days only when he became the secretary of govt.collage of Puri. He was arrested under MISA (Maintenance of Internal Security Act (MISA) in 1975 Emergency period. After release he became the President Of Student union in S.C.S college Puri. He also served as President of CARD Bank and Central Cooperative Bank.
He jumped into active politics in 1985 when he contested from the Pipili constituency under Janata Dal. He was included in cabinet in 2011 and was given the Ministry Of Agriculture. In 2017 Mr. Pradeep Maharathy became minister Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water.
He is the recipient of Global Agriculture Leadership Award in 2016 and Krishi Karman Award 2014-15.
