Jhina Hikaka is a member of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) political party. He is elected to the 16th Lok Sabha in 2014 from Koraput constituency in Odisha. He was a MLA from Laxmipur assembly constituency of Koraput district in Odisha. He was kidnapped by Maoists and kept in captivity for 33 days before being released unharmed on 26 April 2012.

Jhina Hikaka Achievements

He was a member of Koraput District Cultural Society. He was a member of Legal Service Authority in Odisha High Court from 2013. He was the President of Adivasi Pragatibad Samaj, in Luxmipur, Koraput from 2005. He was the secretary of BJD Party in Odisha from 2009. He is the founder and President of Cultural Society `ESKI`. In recognition of his contribution to the Odisha Legislature and its Proceedings, he has been Awarded "Sarvashreshta Bidhayaka", by `Neta` Newspaper in 2012, "Adarsha Bidhayaka" by `Khola Parda` Newspaper and "Adarsha Yuva Bidhayaka" by the `Indian National Students Parliament` at Pune in 2013
