Shyam Singh Yadav Biography

Shyam Singh Yadav was born on March 31, 1954, in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, to Uma Shankar Singh Yadav and Indrawati Yadav.

Beginning in 1982, he served in various capacities in the Uttar Pradesh Provincial Civil Services (U.P. P.C.S.) 1982 Batch, including roles as Deputy Collector/S.D.M. in Meerut, Sardhana, Mawana, Baghpat, and Ballia, Bulandshahar, Muzaffarnagar, and Bijnor. He also held positions such as City Magistrate in Muzaffarnagar and Banda, Joint Secretary at the Moradabad Development Authority, and Vice-Chairman of the Development Authority in Muzaffarnagar, among others. Yadav retired as Special Secretary for the Government of U.P.

He served as a Member of the Advisory Board at the Censor Board in Mumbai and also held a position on the Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee. In May 2019, he was elected to the 17th Lok Sabha. From 2016 to 2019

Throughout his career, he has been active in sports and has diverse interests, including horse riding, gliding, flying, and participating in the Himalayan Car Rally in 1987. He is skilled in various shooting disciplines such as Air Pistol, 25M Pistol, 50M Rifle, Clay Pigeon, and Big Bore Rifle. He has represented India in Shotgun events in Shanghai, Malaysia, and Italy nearly 25 times and has served as Coach-cum-Manager for the Indian Shooting Team in World Cups and World Championships.

Furthermore, Yadav has been actively involved in the administration of shooting sports, having worked as the ex-treasurer of the National Rifle Association of India and serving as the President of the U.P. State Rifle Association. He has completed courses in judging and coaching under the International Shooting Sport Federation (I.S.S.F.).

His contributions extend beyond sports; he has also acted in feature films, TV serials, and documentary films. Additionally, he has played the Tabla and produced a documentary on the religious place Shukva Tal in Muzaffarnagar, U.P.
