Sanjay Bhatia was born on 29 July 1967 in Panipat, Haryana, into a family with roots in the region’s civic and social life. He completed his Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) degree from Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, in 1988, which laid the foundation for his public and community work within his home state.
Bhatia’s political journey began with active involvement in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its youth and grassroots wings, including roles within the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha and BJP organisational structures in Haryana. He held party positions, including State General Secretary of the BJP, Haryana, and also served as Chairman of the Haryana Khadi and Village Industries Board, contributing to policy support for local industries and artisans.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Bhatia was elected as the Member of Parliament from the Karnal constituency, succeeding Ashwini Kumar Chopra and representing his party at the national level. During his tenure in the Lok Sabha, he participated in parliamentary committees related to home affairs, members’ allowances, and micro, small, and medium enterprises, reflecting a focus on legislative engagement across diverse issues.
In 2024, he continued his parliamentary role following the conclusion of the 17th Lok Sabha, engaging with constituency matters and party responsibilities.
As of 2026, he remains active in BJP organisational and legislative efforts, participating in public events, constituency development, and political strategy within Haryana and at the national level.
