Ravneet Singh Bittu is an Indian politician from Punjab who currently serves as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha representing Rajasthan and as Union Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing Industries in the Government of India.

A grandson of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh, Bittu has been elected to the Lok Sabha three times from Anandpur Sahib and Ludhiana.

As of 2026, he continues in ministerial and parliamentary roles after joining the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Ravneet Singh Bittu Biography

Ravneet Singh Bittu was born on September 10, 1975, in Kotli, District Ludhiana, Punjab, to Swaranjit Singh and Jasvir Kaur.

He was first elected to the 15th Lok Sabha representing Anandpur Sahib. He was re-elected to the 16th Lok Sabha from Ludhiana and won his second consecutive election from the same constituency in 2019.

Before the onset of the 2024 general elections, he transitioned from the Congress party to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Subsequently, in August 2024, he was elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan. Alongside his parliamentary role, he was appointed Union Minister of State for Railways and Minister of State for Food Processing Industries in the Union government, handling portfolios under the leadership of the Prime Minister and respective Cabinet ministers.

He has a special interest in agriculture, the rural economy, and infrastructure. He promotes drip irrigation, pollution control, waste management, rainwater harvesting, renewable energy projects, and urban transport.

Outside of politics, he enjoys spending quality time with his family, playing with children, working out, and playing hockey and kabaddi. He was a sports prefect in school, represented his school and college in various sports events, and was a national hockey player.

As of 2026, Bittu continues to serve in the Rajya Sabha and in his Union ministerial roles, representing his state and contributing to national policymaking.
