Ram Kripal Yadav, born on October 12, 1957, in Goriya Toli, Distt. Patna (Bihar), is a prominent figure in Bihar's political and cultural landscape. He rose to prominence under the guidance of Lalu Prasad Yadav, serving as the Chief Minister of Bihar in 1990. Throughout his career, Yadav remained steadfast in his support for Lalu Prasad Yadav and the RJD party.
For three decades, Ram Kripal Yadav strengthened his political ties under the patronage of RJD leader, Lalu Prasad Yadav. He contested the elections from Patna and retained the seat for three terms. Due to certain internal skirmishes within his party(RJD), he decided to sever ties and contest the elections with a BJP ticket in 2014. He defeated Misha Bharti-- the daughter of Lalu Prasad Yadav-- in the 16th Lok Sabha elections from Pataliputr,a which was formerly known as Patna.
Yadav has been actively involved in youth development initiatives and has participated fervently in cultural programs across Bihar. His dedication to promoting sports and culture led him to become the Chairperson of the Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Sports and Culture in Bihar.

In November 2025, Ram Kripal Yadav won the Danapur seat with 119,877 votes, outpacing RJD’s Rit Lal Roy by a margin of 29,133 votes, reaffirming his stature as a senior BJP leader from Patna.
On 20 November 2025, Ram Kripal Yadav (BJP) joined the 41st Bihar ministry, marking his induction into the cabinet after his win from Danapur.
