Raghav Chadha, born on 11 November 1988 to Sunil Chadha and Alka Chadha in Central Delhi, has been an influential figure in Indian politics. His journey began during the India Against Corruption movement in 2011, where he met Arvind Kejriwal, the movement's leader and future founder of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). This meeting marked the start of Chadha's active involvement in public service.
In 2012, Chadha was entrusted with his first major political task: drafting the Delhi Lokpal Bill. Soon after, he became a founding member of AAP, rising to prominence as the party's spokesperson on television debates and public forums. By the age of 26, he was appointed AAP's national treasurer, showcasing his financial expertise as a practicing Chartered Accountant.
Chadha's dedication saw him take on various roles within the party, including Litigation Charge, where he managed critical legal matters for the party and its leaders. In 2015, during AAP's landslide victory in the Delhi Assembly elections, Chadha's efforts contributed significantly to the party's success.
He contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from South Delhi but faced defeat against the BJP's Ramesh Bidhuri. However, in 2020, he made a strong comeback, winning the Delhi Assembly elections from the Rajinder Nagar constituency. During his tenure as an MLA, he served as the Vice Chairman of the Delhi Jal Board, where he worked on improving water management in the city.
In 2022, Chadha transitioned to national politics, becoming a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha, representing Punjab. He also continued his role as a National Executive Member and Spokesperson for AAP, defending the party and its policies on multiple platforms.
Before his political career, Chadha worked with renowned accountancy firms such as Deloitte, Shyam Malpani, and Grant Thornton, honing his financial skills. Despite his political commitments, he remains a qualified Chartered Accountant, reflecting his multifaceted expertise.
He has a keen interest in badminton and cricket, actively participates in debates and public speaking, and enjoys reading books, travelling, and exploring new places, cultures, and cuisines in his leisure time.
On a personal note, he married female Bollywood actor, Parineeti Chopra, on 24 September 2023. They made their post-marriage debut together on the renowned TV show Aap Ki Adalat, hosted by veteran anchor Rajat Sharma in December 2024.
