Prestone Tynsong Biography

Prestone Tynsong is an Indian politician and the present Deputy Chief Minister of Meghalaya. In March 2023, he took oath as the 4th Dy CM, being a member of the National People's Party. Tynsong is serving the position along with Snaiwbhalang Dhar in the Conrad Sangma led cabinet. He is also the Minister of District Council Affairs Department, Home (Police) Department, Parliamentary Affairs Department, Public Works Department (R) and Public Works Department (B) in the govt. of Meghalaya.
Earlier, Tynsong became the deputy CM for the first time in 2018. For the unversed, the politician was affiliated with the Indian National Congress party till 2017.

He successfully contested assembly election from Pynursla seat on NPP ticket. And defeat Nehru Suting of UDP.

Prestone Tynsong quit Indian National Congress to join National People�s Party (NPP).

2013

He successfully contested assembly election from Pynursla seat by defeating Banalari Khongwar of UDP.

2008

He was re-elected to assembly from Lyngkyrdem seat this time he defeated KHNAM candidate Dominic Roblin Nongkynrih.

2003

Prestone won first assembly election on Congress ticket from Lyngkyrdem seat. He defeated MDP candidate Smti. Syrpai Khonglah.

2000

In early 2000 Prestone Tynsong started his political career with Congress Party.
