Prakash Javadekar Biography

Prakash Javadekar was born to Keshav and Rajani in Pune on 30th January 1951. He married Dr. Prachee Javadekar and was blessed with two sons with her.

He was elected to the upper house of the Indian parliament, Rajya Sabha in 2018 from Maharashtra as a Bharatiya Janata Party member.

Currently, he is the Chairperson of the Committee on Ethics. Additionally, he serves as a Member of various committees, including the Business Advisory Committee and Committee on Public Undertakings. Furthermore, he is a Member of the Committee on External Affairs.

Beyond committee work, he holds ministerial positions, including Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises. He also serves as the Minister of Information and Broadcasting. Finally, he is the Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change too.

Being a writer, he has published many books as well. In the Marathi language, Bekaricha Jwalamukhi (Problem of Unemployment), 1986, Nanenidhiche Karz (IMF Loan), 1987, Shetkanyanchi Karzmukti (Farm Loan Waiver), 1988 and Mahagaicha Bhasmasoor (Problem of Inflation), 1999 and 2010.

He has even written 400 articles in various newspapers and many booklets on topical issues on unemployment, infiltration, IMF loans and other
political topics.
