Mohammad Imran Pratapgarhi

Mohammad​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ Imran Pratapgarhi was born on 6 August 1987 in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh. He is an Indian politician, poet, and orator who is popularly known for his socially aware Urdu poetry. He is an alumnus of Allahabad University. Initially, he came into limelight by his poetry recitals, which addressed issues like equality, secularism, and social justice and hence, he became widely recognized not only in the literary and political circles of India but also throughout the entire country.

Later on, he converted his public popularity and immense youth appeal into a political career by joining the Indian National Congress. And there he started working actively in the national campaigns. In 2019, he was the Lok Sabha candidate from Moradabad, but he lost the election. Even so, his leadership potential was acknowledged and he was elected to the Rajya Sabha from Maharashtra in 2022.

Pratapgarhi, as the Rajya Sabha Congressman, has been addressing the topics of education, welfare of the minorities, and cultural representation. Besides, he is the Chairman of The Congress Minority Department and thereby, facilitating the party’s outreach planning. As of 2025, he is still a prominent young voice of the party in the Parliament as well as in the public speaking ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌engagements.
