Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, commonly known as JTN, is a prominent figure in education, arts administration, and agriculture. Born on August 4, 1985, in Matho village, Leh District, to Stanzin Dorjey and Ishey Putit, he has emerged as a multifaceted individual with diverse interests and accomplishments.
Currently, he is serving as a member of the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian parliament. His political journey gained momentum during the 2019 general elections when he contested from the Ladakh constituency under the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) banner, encompassing Leh and Kargil districts. Out of the 126,426 votes cast in the constituency, he secured 42,914, defeating his closest competitor, Sajjad Hussain.
When the BJP decided to nominate Tashi Gyalson from the Ladakh Constituency for the 18th Lok Sabha elections, he opted to switch alliances and joined the Indian National Congress party. The Congress has now selected him as their candidate for the Ladakh Lok Sabha seat in the upcoming 2024 general elections.
