Madan Mohan Tiwari, a resident of Pipra Pakdi in the Bettiah Municipal Corporation, comes from an ordinary family. He began his political career as the chief of his area, serving from 2000 to 2005. Due to the reservation of the Mukhiya post in 2005, he ran for the Panchayat Samiti elections and won, becoming the block chief that same year.
In the Bihar Assembly elections of 2015, the Congress party nominated Tiwari, as their candidate for the Bettiah Majholia Assembly seat. He successfully defeated the outgoing former minister, Renu Devi, and became an MLA.
