Kalvakuntla Kavitha Biography

The birth of Kalvakuntla Kavitha occurred on 13 March 1978 in Karimnagar, Telangana, to K Chandrashekar Rao and K Shobha. Her father served as a key leader during the Telangana statehood movement and became the first Chief Minister of the newly established state. She completed her bachelor’s degree in engineering from VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology in Hyderabad and acquired a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Southern Mississippi, USA, before beginning her public career.

Kavitha established Telangana Jagruthi as a cultural and social organisation in 2006, which assisted the Telangana movement through its activities while later developing youth skills and cultural identity projects throughout the entire state.

She won the Nizamabad Lok Sabha seat during the first general election after Telangana became a state in 2014, which established her as one of the major parliamentary representatives from Telangana.
