Dr. Sumer Singh Solanki was born on May 1, 1972, in Village Than, Tehsil Pati, Distt. Barwani (Madhya Pradesh) to parents Amar Singh Solanki and Batli Bai Solanki.
In June 2020, Dr Solanki was elected to the Rajya Sabha. Following this, he dedicated his efforts to various committees and advisory roles.
He served as a Member of the Committee on Urban Development. He became a Member of the Committee on the Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in May 2021.
In September 2021, his expertise expanded to the Committee on Railways. He was appointed a Member of the Central Advisory Board of Archaeology in August 2022.
Dr Solanki's commitment to youth development led to his membership in the Central Advisory Committee for the National Cadet Corps in August 2023.
Beyond his political endeavours, he is renowned for his extensive social work and research on tribal culture and traditions. He has received numerous accolades, including a State-level award for outstanding social work.
With a career spanning 15 years as an Assistant Professor of History at Government PG College, Barwani, Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Solanki has enriched the academic sphere while actively engaging in rural and cultural development initiatives.
Dr. Solanki is happily married to Manjula Solanki, and together they are proud parents of two children.
