Dinesh Gundu Rao Biography

Dinesh Gundu Rao has served as the youngest Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president. He got also elected as MLA in several terms from Gandhi Nagar constituency. Dinesh Gundu Rao is the second son of popular Ex-Chief Minister of Karnataka, Late Sri R. Gundurao and Smt. Varalaxmi Gundu Rao. He began his political career in 1993. Before this, he was active in campaigning and other activities of the Congress party for six years. At present, Rao got re-elected to the Karnataka assembly election 2023 with lowest margin by defeating BJP candidate Sapthagiri Gowda A Q from Gandhi Nagar constituency. Also, sworn-in as the Health & Family Welfare Minister under Siddaramaiah's government on May 27, 2023.
