Arjun Munda's journey began on May 3rd, 1968, in Jamshedpur, where he was born into a middle-class tribal family. Growing up, he witnessed the struggles of exploited tribals, fueling his passion for social work and politics from a young age.
His involvement in the Jharkhand movement, advocating for the welfare of tribal communities, earned him recognition as a prominent tribal leader. In 1995, he embarked on his political career, serving as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) until 2014, with brief periods as a Member of Parliament (MP).
Following the formation of Jharkhand State in 2000, he assumed the roles of Tribal Welfare Minister and later Chief Minister, spearheading initiatives to uplift tribal populations.
Transitioning to national politics, he currently represents the Khunti Constituency in Jharkhand as a Member of Parliament. He serves as the Union Cabinet Minister for Tribal Affairs and oversees the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare.
Arjun Munda's leadership has brought about significant improvements, especially in healthcare and job creation, benefiting his constituents and setting a precedent for other states to follow.
Beyond his political responsibilities, Arjun Munda is known for his advocacy of fitness and yoga. He is also deeply involved in sports, having founded the Jharkhand State Cricket Association and presided over the Archery Association of India.
