Anjali Nimbalkar came into this world on the 22nd of August, 1976, in the town of Khanapur, which is in the district of Belagavi, in the state of Karnataka. She educated herself to become a doctor and has an MBBS degree as well as a master's in gynaecology and laparoscopy. She has a medical background that has helped her in public health and set up women's federations in her constituency.
Anjali started the Indian National Congress party, where she took a more active role in politics, and contested the 2018 Karnataka assembly election from Khanapur. She was victorious in that election and hence, held the position of the local legislator, 2018 to 2023.
During her period, she focused the issues such as access to primary health care, rural infrastructure, and women's welfare, through organising public rallies and padayathras to stir up not only the local people's issues but also to form their grievances.
In the 2023 Assembly election, she got beaten in the Khanapur area, where Vithal Halagekar from Bharatiya Janata Party won by a large margin. After that, her party chose her as a candidate from Uttara Kannada to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha election, but she didn't make it to win. Her spouse is Hemant Nimbalkar, an IPS officer who got a very significant posting in 2024.
She is still very much involved in on-the-ground mobilisation in 2025 and led an impressive padayatra in Khanapur for voter awareness and local issues.
Anjali's situation is a mix of the medical and political aspects, which she has been addressing at the grassroots level for quite some time now.
