Anitha R. Radhakrishnan was born on 19 September 1951 in Thandupathu village, Udangudi taluk, Thoothukudi district, Tamil Nadu. He entered public life through sustained grassroots engagement in the Tiruchendur region and gradually established himself as a constituency-focused leader with deep local roots.
He achieved his first major electoral success in 2001, when he was elected as a Member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Tiruchendur constituency.
