Alphons joseph kannanthanam is a former Indian civil servant, advocate, and politician from Kerala. He was born on 8/8/1953 in a non electrified village, Manimala, in Kottayam District, Kerala he is the former union Minister of State for culture, and tourism. He is the second BJP Central Minister from Kerala after O. Rajagopal. Alphons Kannanthanam was a 1979 batch Indian Administrative Service (I.A.S.), Kerala cadre officer. He served as commissioner of the Delhi Development Authority.
