Pushkar Singh Dhami is an Indian politician and the current Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.
Pushkar Singh Dhami was born to an Army-man father in Pithoragarh District of Himalayan State. He received his education from Lucknow university with a post graduate degree in Human Resource Management and International Relation, and later pursued LL.B from Lucknow University only.
He started his political career as a student leader with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, and subsequently rose up to the rank of state president of Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha, the youth wing of the BJP.
He worked as the political advisor of Bhagat Singh Koshyari, the then chief minister of the Himalayan state until 2002. His debut in state legislative assembly came in 2012 and he repeated his victory in 2017 state election as well.
Pushkar Singh Dhami got appointed as the chief minister of Uttarakhand as Tirath Singh Rawat stepped down as CM of the state due to a statutory constraint.
