Harsh Rameshkumar Sanghavi Biography

Harsh Sanghavi was born to Rameshkumar and Devendraben Sanghvi in Surat on 8th January 1985. His journey into politics began at the age of 15, when he started working as a social worker. While actively involved with the BJP’s youth wing, Yuva Morcha, Harsh travelled to some of the most remote areas of India, always dedicated to serving the underprivileged and working-class communities.

In 2012, at just 27, he made history by winning the Gujarat Assembly elections with a record-breaking margin, becoming the fourth-highest winner in the state. As the youngest MLA, one of his first acts in office was providing full financial aid for a heart operation, demonstrating his deep commitment to helping others. He later launched the Clean Tapi initiative, even getting into the muck himself to clear rubbish from the river. For his 28th birthday, he organised a job fair, ‘Terapanth Bhavan,’ offering employment opportunities to the youth.

Harsh Sanghavi stands out from many politicians for his dedication to giving a voice to the marginalised and empowering young people to drive social change. As a young leader, he is known for being approachable and compassionate towards his constituents.

During the 2022 Gujarat Legislative Assembly elections, Sanghavi returned to power from the Majura constituency with a significant margin, with more than 116,000 votes being the difference between him and his closest competitor. Three years of his administration have been mainly concentrated on the development of the youth, maintaining good law and order, and bettering the infrastructure not only in Surat but also in the entire Gujarat region.
