A. Vijay Tamilan Parthiban

A. Vijay Tamilan Parthiban was born in 1976 to Arumugam and is associated with Salem district, Tamil Nadu. According to his public election affidavit and candidate disclosures, he completed his Higher Secondary education at Municipality Boys Higher Secondary School, Ammapettai, Salem, during the 1993–1994 academic year. Before entering electoral politics, he was engaged in electronics business activities in Salem.

During the early 2000s, Vijay Tamilan Parthiban became associated with activities connected to Vijay’s fan-based social and welfare networks in Salem district. Over the following years, he remained active in constituency-level outreach, welfare-oriented programmes, and local public engagement activities in and around Salem city. His political visibility gradually increased through participation in regional-level mobilisation efforts connected to Vijay’s growing political network in Tamil Nadu.

In March 2026, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam officially announced Vijay Tamilan Parthiban as its candidate from Salem South constituency for the Tamil Nadu Assembly election. Following the announcement, he actively participated in roadshows, public meetings, local interaction programmes, and grassroots campaign activities across Salem city. His campaign focused on direct voter interaction, urban outreach, youth mobilisation, and booth-level coordination throughout the election period.

During the 2026 Assembly election campaign, Vijay Tamilan Parthiban emerged as one of the visible TVK candidates in western Tamil Nadu because of the strategic importance of Salem city in the election. Political observers noted increased voter attention toward TVK candidates in urban constituencies during the campaign period. He participated extensively in constituency-level mobilisation activities, local outreach meetings, and public campaign events conducted across Salem South during the election.

On 4 May 2026, Vijay Tamilan Parthiban won the Salem South Assembly constituency as the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam candidate by securing 91,371 votes. He defeated DMK candidate M. Loganathan by a margin of 33,369 votes, registering one of TVK’s major victories in western Tamil Nadu during the 2026 Assembly election. His victory significantly increased his political visibility within the party and established him as one of the newly elected legislators from the Salem region.
