Vijayendra Yeddyurappa Biography
B.Y. Vijayendra is a Karnataka-born person who was brought up in a power-influenced political family of the state. He is the younger son of senior BJP leader and former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa and started his career in politics through the BJP youth wing. Notably among his works, he has stabilized his political footprints in the state, especially in the rural part of the Shivamogga district.
Contacting well with the followers base and the staff of the electoral campaign workers well, and through the good performance, he networked across Karnataka. Vijayendra’s leadership potential was confirmed. In 2023, he was elected as an MLA from the Shikaripura constituency, taking over his father’s role and rapidly moving up the ranks of the state BJP.
As of 2025, Vijayendra is the Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka in the Siddaramaiah-led government, besides youth engagement, governance, and regional development. His political journey is out of a familial background, showing administrative ambitions and increasing influence among the party leaders in the south of the state.
