Udumalai K. Radhakrishnan

Udumalai K. Radhakrishnan was born on December 16, 1965, in Pollachi in Tamil Nadu. He completed his B.Com degree from Nallamuthu Gounder Mahalingam College before entering public life.

He began his professional career as a cable TV operator and agriculturist, which later helped him build grassroots connections in his region. His early association with local business and community activities laid the foundation for his political career.

Radhakrishnan entered politics through the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and rose within the party ranks, eventually becoming a prominent leader in the Tiruppur and Coimbatore regions. He also served as Chairman of Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV Corporation Limited between 2011 and 2016, and again later.

He was elected as MLA from Udumalaipettai constituency in 2016 and re-elected in 2021, establishing a strong electoral base. During this period, he held key ministerial portfolios including Housing and Urban Development (2016–2017) and later Animal Husbandry (2017–2021). He continues to remain an active political figure in Tamil Nadu with administrative and electoral experience.

As of April 2026, he is contesting in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections from the Udumalaipettai constituency, continuing his electoral presence in the state.
