Thakur Jaivir Singh came into the world on 1 November 1964 in Uttar Pradesh. About two decades later, he kick-started his political career, and in 2002, when he won from the Barauli constituency, Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, he first got mentioned to be very famous. Again in 2007, he was elected to the same place and period. In this time span, he worked as a Cabinet minister in the state government.
Afterwards, Thakur was elected as a Member of the Legislative Council of Uttar Pradesh. He was in office from 2012 to 2017 and from 2018 to 2022, respectively. He also changed his political alignment, and after leaving his former party, he joined the BJP. Cumulatively, he deepened his influence and had more people vote for him.
A year later, he made a run for Barauli, and on the BJP ticket, he was victorious by a huge margin, thereby becoming the rural area candidate who won with the highest margin in that election cycle. This win represented him coming back to the Assembly and his political stature being revived.
Moreover, he is from a family with a political inheritance. His wife has been a Member of Parliament, and his kids are well-known personalities in the political-public domain, thus making his family one of the most influential in local politics.
