Sultan Ahmed was the Union Minister of State for Tourism in the Manmohan Singh government.
And he is one of great business man and successful political leader. Sultan Ahmed represents Uluberia constituency. In 1969, He joined the Chatra Parishad while studying at Maulana Azad College and In 1973, He joined the Youth Congress. Sultan Ahmed also was one of the founding-members of Trinamool Congress in 1997. He was 2-time Congress MLA for Entally.
He died on Monday, 4 September 2017 at the age of 64 of cardiac arrest.
