Tariq Anwar is a grandson of freedon fighter Barrister Shah Zubair, who represented Bihar in Council of States and a close associate of Mahatma Gandhi. Also he was president of Bihar and Orissa Pradesh Congress Committee.
Tariq Anwar is a grandson of freedon fighter Barrister Shah Zubair, who represented Bihar in Council of States and a close associate of Mahatma Gandhi. Also he was president of Bihar and Orissa Pradesh Congress Committee. His father, Late Shah Mustaque Ahmed was Member of Bihar Legislative Assembly. He was Chairman of Bihar State Sunni Waqf Board and Bihar State Urdu Academy. Shah Tariq Anwar started his career as a journalist. Later he also hold the legacy and become active in politcis with Congress. Tariq Anwar along with Sharad Pawar and P A Sangma broke away from Congress party, when Sonia Gandhi was appointed as president of Congress party. All three formed Nationalist Congress Party.
