Sanjeev Balyan won as a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha from Muzaffarnagar constituency in 2014. He is affiliated with the Bharatiya Janata Party. He is also the Minister of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries under the government of Uttar Pradesh. Prior to that, he also held the portfolios of State for Food Processing, Agriculture, Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation under UP government.
Apart from politics, Balyan has served in Government of Haryana as an assistant professor and veterinary surgeon.
