Ravindra Choubey is one of the senior-most leaders of the Chhattisgarh Congress, who is active in politics before the formation of the state. When Chhattisgarh was a part of Madhya Pradesh, from then till date, Ravindra Choubey has played important roles in the development of the state many times. Ravindra Choubey wanted to become a lawyer. He also completed law studies, but the desire to do something for society drew him into politics and he joined politics in his student life itself. In his 44 years long political career, from the post of student union president in Government Arts and Science College, Durg to today's ministerial post, he held many important positions in the party as well. At present, besides being the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Choubey also holds the charge of the Ministry of Law and Legislative Affairs, Agriculture Development, Farmers Welfare, and Biotechnology, Livestock Development, Fisheries, Water Resources, and Import.
