Abdul Rahim Khan is a longtime Congress leader from the Bidar district whose political career has flourished for many years. He paved the way for regular participation in the state legislature by coming into the Karnataka Legislative Assembly in 1985.
One after another term, he made his way to the forefront as a local leader and eventually was invited to join the Karnataka Cabinet, where he held the portfolios of Minister for Municipal Administration, Wakf, and Minority Welfare at different periods. As a minister, his portfolios were concerned with urban governance, minority welfare schemes, and institutional administration.
Rahim Khan kept up his legislative endeavor through several election victories in Bidar and thus remained firmly entrenched both in the ranks of the Congress party and among the constituency. After his stints in the ministry, he did not fade away but rather made full use of his experience as a legislator to contribute to the Assembly and the party.
By 2025, Abdul Rahim Khan will still be a member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly who actively engages in the legislative process and is also involved in Congress organizational work in the state.
