Prajwal Revanna, born on August 5, 1990, in Bengaluru Urban, Karnataka, is the son of former Cabinet Minister H.D Revanna and the grandson of Deve Gowda. After completing his BE, Prajwal embarked on a journey into the political arena. In 2015, he was selected as one of the 10 promising young politicians in India by the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), UK, offering him exposure to the British governance system.
Despite being a member of the Janta Dal (Secular), Prajwal faced a setback in 2018 when his uncle, H.D Kumaraswamy, denied him a ticket in the elections, leading to a familial dispute. However, undeterred by this setback, Prajwal remained resilient and engaged in political activities in Hassan. In 2019, his perseverance bore fruit as he contested and won the Hassan Lok Sabha seat, previously held by Deve Gowda.
