Indian politician Pravat Chowdhury is also the former MLA from the state Tripura. Pravat was the representative of Manu constituency in South Tripura since 2014 on a CPI (M) ticket. As he won the 2014 by-election after the then MLA Jitendra Choudhury resigned the post by winning Lok Sabha seat in the same year. Thereafter, Chowdhury won again as full-term MLA during the 2018 assembly election.
