He was elected to the 17th Lok Sabha from the Nandyal in Andhra Pradesh in the 2019 general elections as a member of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party.
He serves as a member of the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Jal Shakti and the Standing Committee on Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Food Processing.
