Kotagiri Sridhar was born to Kotagiri Vidyadher Rao and Kotagiri Vijaya Kumari in Nuzvid on 22nd October 1973. His father was also a politician and he served as a Minister of Agriculture and Minister of Large-scale Industries in the Chandrababu cabinet. He started his political journey by joining the YSRCP(Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party) and becoming the leader.
He married Saritha Katikaneni in 1998 and was blessed with two children with her.
Presently, he is a Member of Parliament in the 17th Lok Sabha from Eluru constituency in Andhra Pradesh. He is also on the Parliamentarian Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate. His focus area is renewable energy and alternatives to single-use plastic.
He has even served as President of FAW (Football Association of West Godavari) in Andhra Pradesh.
